Indications for use

Tantum Verde is prescribed for the treatment of the following inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and ENT organs (of various etiologies):

  1. (simultaneously with other drugs);
  2. Periodontitis.
  3. , (including after radiation and chemotherapy);
  4. Calculous inflammation of the salivary glands;
  5. In inflammatory and infectious diseases that require systemic treatment, Tantum Verde should be used as part of combination therapy.

Also prescribed after the removal or treatment of teeth, injuries and surgical interventions (jaw fractures, tonsillectomy, etc.).

Contraindications

The tool is not allowed to be used in such situations:

  • high sensitivity to the components of the drug;
  • age less than 3 years;
  • phenylketonuria - for tablet form;
  • age less than 12 years - for a solution with a concentration of 0.15%.

Appointment during pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug Tantum Verde in the 1st trimester of pregnancy is not recommended, since at this time all the internal organs of the fetus are laid, and the effect of drugs on the body can lead to the formation of birth defects and anomalies.

The use of the drug in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of pregnancy is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential danger to the fetus. Treatment is carried out under the supervision of specialists.

The use of the drug during breastfeeding is possible after consulting a doctor.

Dosage and method of application

As indicated in the instructions for use, Tantum Verde is applied topically, after meals. 1 dose (1 injection) corresponds to 0.255 mg of benzydamine.

  • Adults (including elderly patients) and children over 12 years of age are prescribed 4-8 injections 2-6 times / day;
  • children aged 6 to 12 years - 4 injections 2-6 times / day;
  • children aged 3 to 6 years - 1 injection for every 4 kg of body weight, but not more than 4 injections (maximum single dose) 2-6 times / day.

The duration of treatment should not exceed 7 days. If after treatment within 7 days there is no improvement or new symptoms appear, the patient should consult a doctor.

Side effect

During therapy, the following side effects may develop:

  1. Allergic reactions: skin rash;
  2. Local reactions: burning sensation or numbness in the oral cavity, dry mouth;
  3. Other: very rarely - laryngospasm.

In the event of an increase in the listed adverse reactions, as well as the appearance of new ones that are not in the annotation, it is necessary to interrupt therapy and seek medical help to adjust the therapy regimen.

Overdose

To date, not a single case of overdose with Tantum Verde spray has been registered. If you use it in accordance with the instructions, then an overdose is unlikely.

If the drug is swallowed, the following symptoms of intoxication may occur:

  • temperature increase;
  • fear;
  • excitement;
  • vomit;
  • lack of coordination;
  • increased heart rate;
  • stop breathing;
  • cramps in the abdomen;
  • hallucinations;
  • convulsions.

These symptoms can be observed when the drug is swallowed at a dosage several times higher than the therapeutic dose. As a rule, they are observed in children.

There is no specific antidote. Treatment is aimed at eliminating signs of intoxication. The victim is prescribed gastric lavage, induction of vomiting. Medicines are prescribed to help support the functioning of vital organs.

The drug contains parahydroxybenzoates, which can cause allergic reactions.

It should be used with caution in patients with a history of bronchial asthma, tk. possible development of bronchospasm while taking the drug.

When using the drug Tantum Verde, hypersensitivity reactions may develop. In this case, it is recommended to stop treatment and consult a doctor to prescribe appropriate therapy.
